A New Chapter

So the good news of this update is that Jamey has a job!!!  Jamey had an interview in March for a Chaplain Residency in Morgantown, WV and it went very well.  They offered him the position a couple weeks ago, and we have accepted! Yay! This means that we will be moving to Morgantown sometime this summer.  We also heard back from the Air Force just before the deadline, that he was not going to get into the Candidate program.  This was a bit of a bummer at first, but we know that God is in control and is guiding us where we need to go.  At this point, he doesn't have enough time to get trained in anything else before he reaches his one year point, which means in July, he will get an administrative discharge from the Air Force.  This really isn't a bad thing, and it happens often with the guard.  So after our year in Morgantown, he will still be able to enlist again with the intention of becoming a chaplain, if we still feel that we should go that direction. I say if, because it seems like when we decide our plan, God has other plans! =)  This entire journey has been such an inner self journey for me.  I feel like God is teaching me so many things and is continually asking me to hand things over to the point that I really am willing to say I will do whatever He asks.  Even the things I have sworn that I would never do, he has been leading me towards.  And so for the last few months I have been wrestling with the idea of Homeschooling.  I have always said that I would NEVER do it and I'm not capable. But God has really been working on me and I believe wholeheartedly that this is the direction we need to go.  So starting this next year, I will be homeschooling the older 3, and I couldn't be more excited!  I can see now how, while we thought we knew where we were headed, God was leading us to take that step of faith and perhaps even see if we were willing to let go of what we knew and head into the unknown.  All I can say is that the peace I have is indescribable.  I certainly get anxious at times, but knowing that He is taking care of it, means that I don't have to stress.  All the pieces seem to be falling into place, and I'm so excited to see what this next year holds! So we would appreciate your prayers as we continue on this journey of faith!

Mar-Apr

Here's a highlight of the March and April Happenings:

Rain Rain Go Away! We have had so much rain! The boys have
enjoyed it though!

It just doesn't seem possible, but Zane turned 5 this year!
What a fun and theatrical young man he is becoming!

For spring break we went on vacation to Massanutten, VA for a week and stayed
at a resort there.  The first day was absolutely beautiful and we decided to go on
a hike.  At first the kids didn't want to go and were complaining, but once we got
out there and started hiking they LOVED it! We hike about an hour in and an hour back
and it was fun!

There is also an indoor waterpark at the resort that was a lot of fun,
and of course they had some indoor pools also!

We also went to the Baltimore Aquarium, which was a lot of fun!

We were able to go to Nana's house the weekend before Easter
and got to decorate eggs with her. And then she came to our house for Easter
and had an egg hunt.

Kade turned 7! It just seems impossible!

Reya and Kade participated in Crazy Hair day at school!

And we finally have had some nice enough weather for Kade to
try out his Christmas gift!  This is a benefit of living with Grandpa!

Jan-Feb

Here are some highlights from January and February:

Reya has become quite the master of making all kinds of
Rubber band bracelets. This is usually what she is doing before and
after school!

Jamey has been substitute teaching in the local schools, and the
kids love it when he is at their school.  He was able to join Reya for
lunch!

We went to visit Nana and Papa when Aunt Brittany came home
from Korea and were welcomed with a massive snowfall.
We had so much fun sledding!
This is Mommy and Kade

Aunt Brittany joined in the fun!

Cole liked it at first, but he didn't last long!

Reya!

Daddy, Kade and Zane

Zane! He is usually reserved, but he went all out!
It was fun to watch him!

Yay for hot chocolate after we were done!

Kade participated in Upward again this year. This was his 3rd year!
The boys were definitely more aggressive this year, but he did great!

Kade won the end of the year drawing for a basket!

Jamey had the wonderful privilege of officiating the wedding for a good
friend of ours, Brandon and his beautiful bride Chelsea!

Our new favorite ice cream place is Menchies, and the snow
doesn't stop us!
